Our son Nickolas is in the hospital he suffers from tracomalicia and his breathing is going down hill. Monday morning he became lethargic and fussy and by that evening he had stopped taking bottles we went to the pediatrician Tuesday morning and his chest fell in the office and he had no gag reflex the pediatrician immediately called the ambulance. We arrived at er and he has had every blood test and MRI, CT scan, EEG, ultrasound, and multiple x Ray's. He has a cyst on his brain and has been put on a feeding tube and now he is unfortunately on a ventilator. All signs and all ideas point to botchulisim but unfortunately they aren't very sure. He is set to start treatment from tonight or the morning depending on when the medicine arrives. The cdc is involved as well as the health department and gatekeepers in california. They have already checked the house for spores. However the estimated time until he is recovered after medicine is minimum 3 weeks. In order for me to stay with him and my son's father stay with our older son he cannot work and we unfortunately can't pay our bills without him working hence our go fund me. I don't like doing this but anything, ANYTHING helps. Please find it in your hearts to help us because I'm at a loss and in tears, I don't know how we are going to get through this. Please let me and Conor stay with our sons. Mac and Nick.

Someone got good news!!!!!!! His lung has reopened! All the chest PT and breathing treatments worked! He gets to lay however he wants and not just on his left side anymore. He's a very happy baby today, I'm so thankful of all the help they gave Nick

The doctors made their rounds this morning and did an x-ray and unfortunately his lung has minimal change and even though he has chest PT every two hours it hasn't seemed to help enough to make a good change. Hopefully the chest PT will start making a change today if not I fear he will be back on the ventilator.

Thank you all for all the support and donations! We appreciate it so very much! We still aren't sure how long our stay will be but it's looking longer than we anticipated and every little bit helps!
Nick had a small set back with his lung his xray yesterday afternoon showed improvements but still a ton of work to fully open up his lung however overnight it seemed it got worse and we went back to square one but his respitory team has worked nonstop to help him get his lung open and I appreciate all their hard work for Nickolas and his lung. Hopefully tomorrow will be better and he will be stronger. We will continue to need your support and prayers and please continue to cheer Nickolas on!!!

Yesterday he didn't do well with the CPAP he was very fussy very upset like he was trying to tell us something was wrong. I looked at him this morning trying to figure out what was wrong and noticed he was pulling really bad and struggling like maybe he was working to hard when the doctors came I voiced my concern and they agreed. They wanted to put him on Nova and get a chest x ray. They were setting up Nova as the X-ray technician came in. The X-ray reveled his whole right lung was whited out, meaning he has Atelectasis, meaning his whole right lung had collapsed. Even though his body had been working so hard and he was only using the left lung he maintained a good blood oxygen level. He is a fighter and even though it seems we take one step forward and three steps back in the end it only makes him stronger! They put him on bipap. And are trying to blow his lung open with pressure if that doesn't work they will try chest PT if all else fails he may be put back on the ventilator and be intabated again, but that is the last result but it's still on the table. We still need prayers for Nickolas
