Help Australia’s longest running blues music venue survive and revive by October 2021

Like many cultural institutions, events and festival based venues and businesses, we were dealt a body blow in 2020 that put us on our knees. (read below for a full list).

ut we NEED your help to survive COVID-19 and revive The Blues Train. 

Despite no event income since 14th March 2020, our dedicated team have continued to work on The Blues Train business ensuring that now we have the green light to operate, we’re ready to hit the tracks again, bigger and better than ever in October 2021.

Despite some State Government assistance, vigilant Grants applications, and Hugo T’s Superannuation injection, and the recent ending  of the Federal Governments JobKeeper support, our bank account is almost dry again, we need your support more than ever. As we put tickets on sale, all ticket revenue remains in a trust account until the date of the event. 

Our Go Fund Me campaign will continue until our Revival Concerts Series commences in October 2021 or until our target is met.

We can no longer do this alone with no further Government support or JobKeeper support, and we need your help.

From June 2020 we were hopeful of a restart, and busily prepared trains to commence in late 2020. We were rostering staff and booking our artists for a Blues Train return. Unfortunately, a second wave began sweeping through Victoria, and dealt us with a second blow, extending our chance for a return to 2021. 

In Summer 2021, after multiple applications we were unable to secure a Covid Safe plan for a restart, and this combined with the Valentine's Day weekend snap lockdown meant that any chance we may of had to restart in Summer was gone. 

We now have a permit to restart The Blues Train from October 2021. 

In July last year, we estimated that we would need a of $70,000  to make this a reality. Thanks to generous support from our donors, we have reached the halfway mark. However, now that our restart is delayed until October 2021 we will still need to meet this target.
