This fund raiser is to save the Archerfield drift track so everyone can continue to have a regular place to enjoy drifting as there are very few places like this that exist in the entire world.
Its $70000 aud to repair the bottom half of the track and something of this volume would normally be over 110k usually thanks to a group of company coming on board and giving a 40k discount.
The hairpin area would end up as a nearly 10 degree banked corner allowing far more speed and obviously way more fun and be the only place in Australia to experience something like this and this would mainly be to assist in the drainage issue that has caused all of these issues in the first place keeping water off the surface.
We need to stress this is not a simple situation as archerfield is constantly under threat of closure for various reasons. However its been this way for 10 years and still going.
The real fact that it could be lost within 2 years obviously terrifys us as a small business and $70000 is a huge amount and wouldn't be payed back within that 2 years so the potential to be paying 10s of thousands for a track that doesn't exist anymore is real!
We are hoping through the power of the internet and like minded car enthusiasts that we could raise even a chunk of the money to keep the park alive for with any luck many years to come!
Anything you can assist with would be more amazing to help the sport of drifting in Brisbane Australia!
