Nicholas’ AML leukaemia journey

On the 19th of January 2021 our lives where changed, our little Nicholas was diagnosed with AML, a rare aggressive form of leukaemia at the age of 7 months old. After several weeks of being sick and endless drs appointments even an ED visit we were told his cold/flu like symptoms where bronchitis, but we just knew something wasn’t right.  He stopped sleeping, eating & couldn’t bare to be in our arms so back to the ED where they finally took bloods and come back with the scariest words I’ve ever heard.. ‘your son has leukaemia we need to rush you by ambulance to Perth children’s hospital’. Harley was away at work at the time so I had to call him with the news and tell him to get back to Perth ASAP. We were rushed by ambulance and put straight into ICU as his condition was deteriorating fast.  Given how severe his diagnose is Harley has been unable to work, as we are up at the hospital 24/7, coming from fifo this has made a huge impact on us financially . Coming from a biggish family (4 older siblings) he is missing them so much as we are stuck in the hospital for 4+weeks at a time. Nicholas has to undergo lots on his poor little body, chemotherapy being the main one but also blood transfusions, platelet transfusions, general anaesthetic, bone marrow biopsy, lumbar punctures & much more! He’s lost most of his hair but he is a little champion and still looks just as perfect. He is fighting his biggest fight! So if you can spare even a dollar, it would help us out greatly, money is an added stress to us at the moment with bills, petrol (travelling at least 2 hours a day )etc and we would love to not worry about that for now and solely focus on getting our fighter strong again thank you for taking the time to read & we hope even if you can’t afford to donate, please share for us ❤️
