Jack and Mille, a play based on the true story of Alaine Beek’s, difficult but often hilarious experiences during and after her breast cancer diagnosis.
We all respond differently to life changing news. Millie, a fifty something professional at the peak of her career, is about to find out just how quickly life can change when she’s diagnosed with breast cancer. Millie deals with her shock diagnosis by creating an imaginary friend called Jack. Jack helps Millie make sense of a world that has been turned upside down.
A humorous and gritty story about living through, and surviving breast cancer
The aim of the play is to not only entertain, but to provide insight in a positive way to not just those with cancer but those that have been touched by it indirectly. Which is almost all of us.
We have potential to take the play beyond the premier event especially when COVID restrictions ease. But we do need funds to get the production off the ground so any financial support to assist with production costs of the project would be welcomed.
We also want to support Cancer Council Victoria and so will be giving them $2 per ticket plus we have listed a campaign on their website for always much needed funds for research and treatment.
