As the word got out that our Community and Lenswood was under fire ... Our ever so helpful mate Shayne, went out to help - because that’s what he always does.
A log unexpectedly got caught in his tractor as he went out to help the Cudlee Creek bushfire approaching the neighbours property - which
resulted in a fire rescue crew and ambulances rescuing Shayne.
Things can be replaced, but lives can’t.
If you know of the Boyle’s - with His beautiful wife Jess (Née Green - a 7th generation Lenswood local), and their three young daughters (all under 10
years of age), you’d know that they would never ask for help - but are always the first on scene whenever help is required.
Community Spirit is what they embody and they are always putting themselves out there to help and assist in any way they can.
We ask, if you can help donate what you can, it will go towards relieving the financial stresses in their long road to recovery.
A few facts:
• Currently Shayne has approximately 50% of burns to his entire body and face.
• Since Friday 20th Dec 2019, Shayne has had 2 long skin graph operations.
• We are not sure as of yet (based on his condition and recovery), but the likelyhood of Shayne leaving hospital won’t be for many, many weeks.
• As the main income earner, Shayne may not return to work until another 12 months time (or longer).
• His burns will also mean that may not be able to fulfil his current work role.
This is a very traumatic time for his wife and 3 young daughters.
To see their strong and loving father try to recover, is heartbreaking and hard to comprehend. He’s a man who is itching to get back out there and help out anyone else - if he could.
The bushfires are devastating enough - especially having to live in an effected area and community.
This page is set up to give hope and make the journey a little easier financially during this time, and the hard months ahead.
We are all forever grateful for the Community and Australian Spirt in times of real need.
For the Boyle’s, any financial donation is incredibly generous, much needed and greatly appreciated.
******* UPDATE *******
Just a quick update re Shayne’s progress (as of Wednesday 8 Jan 2020)
Firstly, the Boyles, their family and close friends can’t express enough the gratitude for your generosity of donations, thoughts, prayers and heartfelt messages. In the minimal words of Shayne “ I am humbled by everyones support”.
Since his miraculous rescue by the Basket Range CFS crew, Shayne has endured three skin graph and surgeries. The bandages are still on however his fingers are now poking out and pointing to a positive progress. In the last week, his mobility is slowly returning with assistance of the hospital
It truly is a sight to behold and we are thankful that Shayne can now open his eyes and clearly see the vision of growth and gratitude that is set before him in 2020. Special thanks so far to the RAH Burns staff, family and friends who have been by Shayne’s side since the Bushfire Rescue.
If you do have an opportunity to pop in to see Shayne, let Jess know. Visits from familiar faces of those who naturally love and care, really boost his
spirits and his amazing desire to get back into life and be at home with Jess and his beautiful girls.
One quick final request: If there is anyone who is in contact with a company that sells Leather Electric Recliner Chairs we would love to hear from
you - as this will greatly benefit Shayne for his home recovery journey.
Thank you all once again. Everyones care and support never ceases to amaze us.
