Meet Atticus! ( Atti or fatticus he doesn’t seem to mind too much ) He is a 5 year old dachshund with so much love to give and has brought so much joy into not only my life but so many more.
Back In October 2019 Atticus was first initially diagnosed with IVDD (Intervertebral disc disease) we had gotten home from work one night and he just wasn’t himself, within 2 hours of symptoms he had completely lost function in his back legs. We as a family had made the decision to operate immediately the next morning, we were lucky enough to arrange the funds and be able to have him home within the week. Our boy had made an almost full recovery and for the most part, it was an easy journey. We have since had a scare back in December 2020 but we luckily enough caught it early and tried to do a less invasive approach, all seemed to be well until 3 days ago.
Unfortunately the circumstances were almost identical to last time, within a few hours my boys back legs were completely paralysed. Atticus will need to have a second spinal surgery, However this time financial situations are a lot different. The surgeries alone can range anywhere from $6k-$12k let alone the medications physio etc. Any help would be be extremely helpful and will be greatly appreciated by Myself, Atticus and my family whether it be to donate or even to share this GoFundMe page.
