On Christmas eve 2020, Erin (33) was dealt a life changing blow. A diagnosis of HER-2 breast cancer. Erin discovered the lump while breastfeeding her 8 month old daughter, Molly. HER-2 breast cancer is a particularly aggressive form of cancer, which can be treated successfully with equally intensive treatment.
Over the next 6 months Erin will undergo chemotherapy and radiotherapy, as well as a lumpectomy, and removal of her ovaries. During this time, Erin will be treated with a range of different drugs, to aggressively target her cancer. One of the drugs required is not covered by the PBS, and will be an out of pocket cost of $10,000.
Running her own business as a tattooist on the Mornington Peninsula, anyone who knows Erin, knows she is fiercely self sufficient; a super mumma to her 2 beautiful daughters, Gracie (3 years) & Molly (8 months), and wife to her soul mate (and rock), Trav. Not one to ask for help, but always the one to offer it.
The aim of this fund is to help cover the cost of a drug which is a very necessary part of Erin's treatment. Any extra money raised will be used for any further medical bills, appointments, mental health assistance etc. The next 12 months will be a tough one for Erin and her family, and money is the very last thing they should have to think about. The money raised will directly transferred to Erin & Trav.
