The NSW flood emergency has presented famers with a set of new challenges who until recently were battling the drought and bushfires. Flood affected farmers on the Mid North Coast will require hay and for several months. Critical supplies are not reaching these communities in a timely manner as the government is no longer directly subsidising the cost of diesel for truck drivers. This campaign and the initial target is to cover the road transport costs of sending as many bails of hay as possible from southern Victoria to the mid north coast of NSW.
All proceeds raised are to strictly cover the costs of transport operators, no freight company will profit from this campaign.
Back to the Bush and the Timboon Lions Club are raising the funds.
Max Anderson, a generational dairy farmer in Warrnambool VIC is mobilising the supply of donated hay for dairy and pastoral farmers affected by the recent NSW floods. Back to the Bush is assisting Max and the Timboon Lions Club with the fundraising efforts and the coordination of the hay directly to farmers.
If you know someone who requires hay please contact Back to the Bush and Max Anderson [Timboon Lions] through Back to the Bush's Facebook and Instagram social media profiles:
