When arriving at the office today I was surprised to see a frail old man sitting on the step outside. When asked why he was here he said he was waiting for food for his family. He was 2 hours early and didn't want to miss out. This wasn't unusual given many people come early and wait. But when I looked in his eyes he seemed ashamed and somewhat frightened. This hit me like a bolt of lightening. What must it be like to have to resort to begging for food to feed your family. How dented would one's pride and dignity be. I have never gone a day of real hunger. I have no children. Yet it I could sense his anxiety and fear. It was written all over his face and was impossible not to feel it. Providing food to those in need is of course important, but of all the great things AidHub can achieve, the one thing I hope we excel at is helping people regain their dignity. Anyway. As at today we have provided over 198,400 meals. By tomorrow it will be over 200,000. Thanks to all for your support in keeping this program going/growing.
