Help Claude Get Into A Campervan
Claude "The Mowerman" Harvey has been travelling around Australia for over a decade raising money for Bravehearts to assist survivors of child sexual assault.
So far he has raised over 1 million dollars! You can see a running total of his fundraising efforts here.
He pushes his mower from town to town and stays at local pubs and backpackers – he is a true Aussie battler.
Claude is now over 70 so walking, and hitching rides are getting difficult.
You can help him continue to do his incredible work by donating money for a camper van that will make life easier for Claude in his travels across the country.
Here's the kind of van he has in mind.
Every dollar you donate will go towards a more comfortable life as he travels around the country raising money – aiming for the next 1 million!
Here is an interview with Claude on his Bruce Highway tour in 2016.
You can also follow his latest tours and efforts on his Facebook page.
Thank you for your help!
CLAUDE IN THE MEDIA
This is Claude the mower man Harvey.
As most of you know, I have been pushing my lawnmower around the Gold Coast since the year 2000. I first started on the Gold Coast for The Gold Coast Project for Homeless Youth By pushing my lawnmower from Tweed Heads to hope island.
In 2006 I was watching who wants to be a millionaire when this block won $62,000, And he told Eddie McGuire that he was going to give $30,000 to Bravehearts.
This man and Eddie discussed Bravehearts, and this was the first time I ever heard about Bravehearts.
The next day I went up to Bravehearts, and I said to them if you will have me I would like to push a lawn mower from Tweed Heads to hope island for Bravehearts if you would want me to but I am going push it back for The Gold Coast Project for Homeless Youth because I have been doing this since the year 2000 Tweed Heads to hope island and again They said yes.
This was the start of me pushing my mower for Bravehearts Tweed Heads to hope island and again for The Gold Coast Project for homeless youth. Them in 2008 I heard that Bravehearts were going into my Granddaughters school to give the Ditto's educate empower and protect program to teach children how to keep safe from child sexual assault.
So I thought I would go to the school that day and listen to the Ditto's program. I was so impressed with Ditto's education program that day I went to Bravehearts office and I said to Bravehearts that if they will have me that I would give up the Gold Coast homeless youth and put the rest of my life pushing my lawnmower for Bravehearts to educate every child in Australia the Ditto's education program that I would like to sell my mower to Sydney in two months time this was in 2008 and they said yes I thank they thought That I was mad.
I did it In 32 days and raised $31,500 I have pushed my mower thought Queensland just about every town Also Tasmania also parts of N S W last year This year S W Western Australia I do a walk on the Gold Coast every year This is my next walk from the 9th September form Tweed heads to hope island and back to Tweed I can not give a date when I will get back to Tweed it depends how much I take.
I have raised a total for Bravehearts of $850,000 for the Gold Coast project for homeless and a couple of children that I raised money for to go to America to get Treatment went I was not doing anything for Bravehearts I have raised about $1,001,000 all up.
But to me it is just as important if not more Important to me put the awareness of child sexual assault and to tell everyone about Bravehearts and the Bravehearts Ditto's Education program It all has been great and fantastic.
I have had some terrible times like someone threatening to shoot me, and a bloke down Burleigh heads last time I was down there kicked my lawnmower and threatened to punch me. But I will not let these sort of people intimate me I will keep pushing my lawnmower even if I had to push it from Tweed Heads to Hope Island and back to Tweed to tell everyone about Bravehearts and put the awareness out about child sexual assault I would. I would like to thank all you people without your support this would not be possible.
You are the ones with your support and donations and your trust in me. You all deserve a pat on the back if you have someone with you get them to pat you on the back. I thank you all.
Kind regards from Claude the mower man Harvey.
